Relativistic hydrodynamical processes occur on of a variety of astrophisical phenomena. They require numerical simulations to improve our understanding of these physical mechanisms. Our purpuse is to build a finite difference numerical code with the free license "GNU Public License (GPL)" developed by the Free Software Foundation (FSL). www.gnu.org.
We are currently building a free (in the sense of a GNU GPL license) 2DRHD code in order to be used for different astrophysical situations. Our final target will be to include strong gravitational fields and magnetic fields.
We inted to form a large group of developers as it is usually done for GPL codes.
In the first tests we use the two-step predictor-corrector method This is a second order finite difference scheme that is widely use in the solution of nonlinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws. Besides, we apply the "flux-corrector method" to add a corrective diffusion to non-physical ripples.
However our final intention is to use some of the High-Resolution shock-capturing methods because they treat consistently discontinuous solutions.
